International Year Two

What is the International Year Two?

Complete your degree in three years

The International Year Two pathway allows you to jumpstart your career by completing your foundation course and undergraduate degree in three years, if you have already achieved a higher level of academic achievement in your home country. The programme is designed to support international students who perform above the level required for entry to the Undergraduate Foundation Programme.

You will spend the first year at the International Study Centre, developing your English language skills and studying subject-specific modules, before completing the final two years of your degree at the University of Aberdeen. 90% of students who completed the International Year Two at Aberdeen International Study Centre were offered progression to a degree course at the University of Aberdeen in 2023.

Why study the International Year Two?

  • Begin your studies with the second year of your degree, allowing you to graduate in three years.
  • Study three terms at the International Study Centre in a welcoming and supportive environment, before progressing to year three of your four-year undergraduate degree at the University.
  • Develop your subject knowledge and academic English skills.
  • Lessons taught in the same style as those at the University of Aberdeen.

The teachers were really nice, to the extent that I was also taken through extra remedial classes, whereby they made sure that I was able to catch up. They helped me stabilise and get myself prepared because they became more like another family, away from home."
