Scholarships at Aberdeen

Global Scholarship for pathway students 

We offer partial tuition scholarships to help with your studies at the University of Aberdeen International Study Centre. These may differ depending on region and are offered on a first come, first served basis.

Eligibility

You must hold an offer to study at the University of Aberdeen International Study Centre to be considered for this scholarship.

This scholarship does not apply to students who are sponsored by a government, organisation or company. 

Launch award

To support the launch of the new International Year Two in Psychology and Medical Science, we are offering a number of generous scholarships that you can benefit from to help with your studies.

Eligibility

You must hold an offer to study at the University of Aberdeen International Study Centre to be considered for this scholarship.

Scholarships are valid for 2025/26 Academic Year programmes, which begin on or after August 25th, 2025.

This scholarship does not apply to students who are sponsored by a government, organisation or company.

What kind of scholarships are on offer when progressing to the University of Aberdeen?

Once you successfully complete your pathway programme at the International Study Centre, you’ll be granted access to University of Aberdeen’s generous scholarships to assist with financing your undergraduate or postgraduate study.

Undergraduate scholarships

The University of Aberdeen is pleased to offer students enrolling on an undergraduate level pathway programme at the International Study Centre access to their undergraduate scholarships for progression to the University in September 2025.

This is a £5,000 tuition fee discount, and the scholarship will apply to every year of degree study. The scholarship is open to both self-funded and sponsored full-time international fees students registering for on-campus undergraduate programmes.

Eligibility

The University of Aberdeen offers the undergraduate scholarships to international students starting their pathway programme (Undergraduate Foundation Programme or International Year Two) in September 2024, November 2024 or January 2025 and who will transition to the University in September 2025.

Postgraduate scholarships

Self-funded Pre-Masters Programme students will be entitled to one of the following:

  • Merit-based scholarship: The University of Aberdeen is offering progression scholarships to students who achieve a grade B (equivalent to at least 68%) in their postgraduate pathway programme. This scholarship will be available up to the value of £2,000 off the postgraduate degree tuition fee, following progression from the International Study Centre.

  • Any applicable Aberdeen Global Scholarship on offer at the time: These are open to eligible self-funded taught Masters students who are classed as international fee status and domiciled in one of the countries listed below:

Eligibility of the Aberdeen Global Scholarships

The Aberdeen Global Scholarships are for self-funded international students starting their postgraduate degree study at the University of Aberdeen in September 2025 or January 2026 and therefore are available for May 2025 and September 2024 Pre-Masters Programme students.

Important information

  • Students at the University of Aberdeen cannot combine scholarship awards. Successful awardees will receive the highest value scholarship as their total award.
  • You do not need to apply separately for the scholarship. Your application for study will be automatically checked for eligibility for the scholarship upon successful completion of your pathway programme.
