Enhanced Induction
Join University of Aberdeen International Study Centre in November 2024 to participate in our 3-week Enhanced Induction programme, designed to help you settle into life in the UK before commencing your main pathway programme in January 2025.
The Enhanced Induction gives you extra support and the opportunity to learn more about life in the UK and develop your English Language skills. You will also receive expert guidance on academic practice from the International Study Centre; all offered to you at no additional cost.
The Enhanced Induction is focused on three areas that will help you succeed in your academic programme: language, life and learning skills.
Why attend the Enhanced Induction?
You’ll benefit from 15-hours per week of face-to-face sessions, allowing you to:
- Practice your English language skills
- Build new friendships and get to know key Centre staff, helping you adjust to life living and studying in the UK.
- Find our more about the wide range of support and guidance available to you, which is designed to help you succeed.
- Additional advice on developing your digital skills, managing your money, practical tips on managing your time and an introduction to assessments in UK higher education.
- Have additional time to adapt to and enjoy UK life and culture, helping you settle in before you begin your academic programme in January 2025.
It’s the perfect way to get a head start and be better prepared for your chosen programme.
What can I expect from the additional three weeks?
Attending the Enhanced Induction gives the following benefits:
- A varied timetable, designed to help you make the most of your student experience.
- Work with your fellow students on group activities and projects, with the opportunity to make suggestions and provide feedback.
- Explore the university’s facilities and the local area through campus tours.
Are there any additional costs or fees?
There are no additional tuition fees to pay. However, there will be additional costs to consider such as accommodation costs, as you will be in the UK for a longer period of time.
