Postgraduate pathway programmes

Your postgraduate degree at Aberdeen

Postgraduate study is about building upon the skills you learnt as an undergraduate student. Masters degrees offer you an edge in the competitive graduate market, improving your career prospects as you gain more experience in your chosen subject area.

Studying a Masters degree is a different experience to studying an undergraduate degree. Postgraduate degrees are often more autonomous and you will be required to manage your own time effectively. On top of this, you will get to learn even more about your subject to prepare for your future career.

Preparing for your postgraduate degree

Studying a postgraduate pathway programme allows you to build on the skills you developed in your home country, whilst preparing to continue your academic adventure at a UK university. At the International Study Centre, we will help you to adjust to a new life in Scotland, as well as guiding you as you get used to a new education system.

Our pathway programmes are designed in collaboration with University academics, ensuring you are benefiting from the same high standard of teaching Aberdeen is known for. Postgraduate degrees at Aberdeen are typically one year in length, with the International Study Centre offering multiple entry points to ensure you get the support you need to succeed on your degree.

I guess a lot of things are different and the study process is different because in China most things you study is what the teacher taught you and here the most important part is you study yourself. I gained a lot of study skills while I'm here, how to do the research, how to read and do the notes because there wasn't that much reading in China."
